Apple has kept mum on details surrounding next year's MacBook Pro and Air but as early as now, the Internet has been rife with rumors. We have the latest updates on 2016 MacBook Air and Pro including details on its possible release date, specs and price.

According to Blorge, the MacBook Air 2016 should have been launched last month but the company has delayed the announcement until sometime in Spring 2016. IB Times speculates a launch in March 2016 is a more likely date for the MacBook Air as the Cupertino company normally launches new products around this time.

The specific date is not yet known although Christian Today believes that the announcement could be made during the Worldwide Developers Conference, commonly held around the first few months of the year.

If the rumors are true, MacWorld says conference attendees can expect more than a presentation of an Apple laptop. Besides the MacBook Air, the conference would make an ideal platform for revealing new models of the Apple Watch, the iPad Air 3 and the 4-inch iPhone 6c.

Sources have revealed that the Apple Watch 2 will start shipping in April, around a year after the first model was launched.

The upcoming MacBook Air is believed to be much lighter that the one currently on the market. Blorge says the new MacBook Air will come in two variants: the 13-inch and 15-inch. These new laptops will have a Retina display, Force Touch typepad and Intel Skylake processors.

Expect the MacBook Air to run on Apple's latest operating system, codenamed El Capitan. Australian Network News says the Air will also come with a Type-C USB port.

With a thinner form, expect a different cooling module and battery. Apple has not confirmed pricing for the MacBook Air but judging from the current prices of the laptop on the market, consumers may expect prices to start at around $1299.

Several sources indicate that the MacBook Pro will not be launched until June 2016. Shipping of units is not expected to start until several months later.

Spacing the launch and release of different products is common practice for the electronics company. This gives each device ample time to be gain popularity and prevent competition between Apple products.

Apple has done the same thing with the iPad Pro and the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Although the three devices were announced simultaneously, the selling of the tablet was held for several months.
