Google would like to play Santa this holiday season. The tech giant has been offering great deals from their App Store and not the least of which is a discount for its Google Play Music subscriptions. Users can now opt to avail of the promo and subscribe for three months for just a buck.

The thing is, you would have to be new to Play Music and it is your first time to subscribe to the service—so, this is just probably Santa's new ploy to attract even more kids. The Play Music is Google's streaming service wherein subscribers have to pay $9.99 every month. They do, however, also offer a Family pack, which allows a user and five of his or her family members can have access to the streaming service together.

"With a number of consumers likely to be giving or receiving Android devices over Christmas, offering a reduction for a subscriber service such as Play Music is probably a good way to introduce new Android device owners to the service and maybe even manage to keep them subscribing once the three-month period has ended," wrote Android Headlines.

The new Play Music is for those who want to go solo and save some money this holiday. In a previous deal for the streaming service for a 3-month subscription, new users were offered to try out Play Music for a trial period of one month and, then, billed for the next couple of months for $9.99. So, the 3-month subscription for a dollar is really quite a saving.

The Google Play Music deal also include commercial-free videos on YouTube Red and full access to the new YouTube Music app and similar to promos from other popular streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, notes Engadget.

Meanwhile, other items from the App Store going on sale include that of the Minecraft deal, which is now offered at just $0.10. The hit video game regularly comes at a retail price of $4.99. Other offers include movie rentals at 75 percent off, albums at 50 percent off, and book discounts for up to 80 percent off, according to CNET.

Some of the selected in-app purchases will also be offered at a discounted rates of up to 90 percent. These holiday offers on games, books and other media content, however, are only available for those who reside from countries like the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Brazil and Mexico.
