For the third year since Hello Games' "No Man's Sky" was debuted at Spike VGX 2013, gamers continue to anticipate its release, which is slated to be this year. In fact, a new trailer was released in December, further fueling excitement among gaming enthusiasts.  "No Man's Sky" is set to be released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but developers have already expressed their desire to reach more platforms, specifically Xbox, MNR reports.

According to GameRant, there is a complication when it comes to Microsoft, though. The company has a launch parity policy that states that Xbox must have the first or equal rights to "No Man's Sky"'s release date, but PlayStation 4 has already beat them to it. However, ID@Xbox director Chris Charla recently expressed his interest in having "No Man's Sky" on the Xbox One. He even said that they are willing to meet halfway with developers who believe that the parity policy is too constricting.

Outside of Xbox, however, the developers are also interested in seeing the game on the Sony Morpheus VR headset. "No Man's Sky" Sean Murray was in fact tight-lipped when asked about the possibility of the game being available for VR, Games Radar reports.

"I don't know what I'm allowed to say," Murray admitted. "It's something we're thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus... There's nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let's put it that way."

Based on Murray's answer alone, it seems that the time it is taking them to deliver "No Man's Sky" to gamers is because of the massive developments they are undertaking for various platforms.

Meanwhile, for those who are still not in the know, Hello Games' "No Man's Sky" is a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy. Crossmap reports that its preview showed five planets called Imilyanovor-Kai, Habik-Ogan, Notogertasi, Iiamchiame, and Kushimasho, which features heavy rains and exotic wildlife that may or may not be dangerous. Imilyanovor-Kai features a lot of bodies of water, where gamers can explore the oceans, and Habik-Ogan is a resource-rich planet where players can mine minerals and crystals.

Of course, gamers can trade as they explore the different planets and encounter characters. The best place to trade is the planet Nogotertasi.
