Nintendo NX release date & specs: controller revealed; will have features similar to PS4, Xbox One

The Nintendo NX was revealed to be in the works by the late Satoru Iwata before his untimely death last July. No other details have been provided by the iconic video game giant although they have announced that a pre-order option will be open soon for the latest console. With a hint from the Japanese company, rumors begin to circulate that besides being unveiled during the E3 2016 or early 2017, the Nintendo NX will be bringing in features similar or better than the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Game N Guide writes that according to unconfirmed speculations, the Nintendo NX will have an AMD mobile CPU and GPU with an 8GB RAM processor to rival that of Sony's PS4. Furthermore, a patent has been applied to give the console an ability to sync with handheld devices, sparking additional rumors that its controller will have two joysticks and two face buttons.

However, Bidness ETC shares it’s a big possibility that the NX will have a more traditional controller, because besides being the most vital part of the console, it can also help fans play games such as Super Smash. What more, Nintendo needs to get past the lukewarm review for its Wii U Gamepad. But, as Nintendo is known to stick to what is ideal, rumors have it that they will most probably maintain the type of gameplay the Wii and Wii U offered.

Besides the controller, Nintendo is rumored to be focusing on the development of NX games. What Culture writes there is already a speculated list of 12 launch games waiting for the latest console to play that would bring back gamers to take the video game company seriously: "Star Wars Rogue Squadron", "Pikmin 4", new "Mass Effect", anything made by Rare, old favorites such as "Pokemon", new "Super Smash Bros.", FIFA 17, "Call of Duty", the latest "Super Mario", "Red Dead Rebellion", "Metroid", and the latest "Zelda".

But, the biggest rumor that is keeping fans at the edge of their seats is the apparent Android operating system that the Nintendo NX will also run on, What Culture adds. The company is quick to squash the rumor although it has instilled in fans that they may expect a more "western-friendly" console once the NX makes its debut.
