'Halo 5' is not due for release until the 27th of this month but fans of the game are getting more than a taste of the upcoming game.

Videos AGB has uploaded a video which shows the first 30 minutes of gameplay. After a short animation at the beginning, players are introduced to their first mission

At the start of the game, players will be playing Spartan Locke. The half hour video indicates that the player's first mission will be to retrieve Dr. Halsey from enemy territory.

If that is not enough to whet the appetite, Grimbrother One has also revealed some striking new details about the upcoming game. In a detailed post on Halo Waypoint, he states that Halo 5 will be introducing a new concept of exploration spaces.

These non-combat campaigns were designed to give players time to investigate and learn more about the game.

"These particular chapters will give you a chance to catch a breath, but also to explore, to look, and to listen. More than perhaps any other campaign in Halo history, there is story to be found to those willing to look and listen - whether that be to your squadmates themselves, or perhaps to other characters that are scattered throughout the environment," says Grimbrother.

Joshingtonstate has divulged more details on additional rules and systems. For one there is the Competitive Skill Ranking system or CSR.

According to the post, players need to finish 10 games before being placed in one of seven ranks: Bronze, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Onyx, and Champion. Each rank contains six tiers.

Under the CSR, players can increase their rank by winning more games. "Whether you drop 30 kills in a game of Slayer or single-handedly capture every flag in a CTF match, wins are the only way to improve your CSR," Joshingtonstate adds.

Developers are using the CSR system to pit players of the exact same skill level against each other. If the system cannot find players with the same CSR, they will look for other players with relatively similar skills.

Another new feature is the introduction of Seasons. Joshingtonstate's post on Halo Waypoint describes this monthly feature at the Arena as a way for players to increase their rank and earn rewards.

Halo 5: Guardians is also planning to implement new rules with more stringent punishments for unethical gaming conduct such as quitting matches, killing your teammates, idling during the match, intentional suicides and too many disconnections.

A day before the game hits the shelves, on October 26th, 343 Industries will be broadcasting Halo 5: Live. According to Grimbrother One, the six-hour event will be featuring interviews with game developers, sneak peeks and more.
