Kim Kardashian-West revealed that she may have to have her womb removed after delivering her second child. During her first pregnancy two years ago, the celebrity developed two rare conditions: preeclampsia and placenta accreta.

On Kim Kardashian-West's website, the celebrity disclosed her concerns and fears about her current pregnancy saying, "My risk of having preeclampsia and placenta accreta are increased and there's not a whole lot I can do to prevent it, so my anxiety is a little high leading up to my delivery. In a very rare case, I might need a hysterectomy after delivery if my condition is severe enough."

The Mayo Clinic describes preeclampsia as a condition where the pregnant female has high blood pressure. Damage to other internal organs, such as the kidneys, may also occur.

If not treated, the condition can be fatal for both mother and baby. According to the source, the only cure is to deliver the baby early.

On the other hand, placenta accrete is a rare condition where the placenta is too attached to the uterine wall. American Pregnancy says that this condition occurs in 1 out of every 2,500 pregnancies.

The pregnant mother of one discussed how she acquired the condition of preeclampsia while giving birth to her first child, North. Unlike in a normal delivery, Kardashian-West says that labor had to be induced six weeks before the due date.

Kim says the delivery was the easy part but as the placenta was embedded deep inside her uterine wall, the doctor had to manually remove it by hand, causing more stress and pain to the celebrity. Kanye West's wife says that undergoing hysterectomy is a last resort, if the condition gets worse.

In times when the reality TV star feels anxious or scared, a call to Dr. Paul Crane does the trick. Kim says Dr. Crane is the same doctor who attended to her mom, Kris Jenner and even delivered her into the world.

The second child in the Kardashian-West clan is due in December.

On her website, Mrs. West provides some helpful advice to other women who may be undergoing similar issues with their pregnancies:

"My advice to anyone going through this or anything difficult during pregnancy is that all you can do is be hopeful, get the best information out there and just be prepared. The more information you have, the better you know how to handle it!"
