There was a lot of anticipation leading to the announcement of the upcoming Tesla Model X crossover. The earlier launch of the more premium model, the Model X Signature edition, back in September has created a cloud of uncertainty when it comes to the new vehicle's pricing and variant selection.

The signature edition was priced at $132,000 and this left a lot of potential buyers from wondering whether they will be able to get a hand on a more affordable model, according to an article from Mercury News. But, now the dust has settled and, finally, the tesla Model X fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

The American automotive company has already bared that their Tesla Model X is available for a price tag of $80,000 for the entry-level variant. CEO Elon Musk did not utter an empty promise, after all, when he assured their customers that lower-priced version is in the works, said PC Mag.

The upcoming vehicle will start to be released early in 2016. According to a spokesperson for the company, there were about 20,000 customers who have made $5,000 deposits and waited up to three years for the chance to customize their car. Those who are already in the wait list were given the option to choose from an array of luxury features.

There were three variants for the Model X, namely the 70D, 90D and P90D versions, which are all capable of all-wheel drive. The difference between the three were primarily on the battery department and performance levels, wrote The Verge.

The 70D, which is about $5,000 more than the Model S sedan, has a range of 220 miles on a single charge and top speed of 140 miles per hour. The 90D, on the other hand, can go up to 257 miles on a charge and reach top speeds of 155 mph, while the more high-end P90D is capable of reaching 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

The delivery of the P90D will come soonest among the three models at the beginning of 2016. The 90D will, then, arrive later at the mid part of that year and the entry-level model in mid to late 2016. The prices for 90D and P90D will be $95,500 and $115,500, respectively, with an additional delivery charge of $1,200, according to Market Watch.

There were three seating configurations for the Model X where the customers can choose from having five, six or seven seats. Those who will opt for the six and seven seater options won't have to worry with storage issues as the third row is can be folded flat down to the floor allowing for more space. The six-seater model will cost an additional $3,000 while the seven-seater will ask for additional $4,000.
