Adele's latest record, "25" is undoubtedly the most anticipated record this year, as sales continue to climb just mere days after the album was released on Nov. 20. According to Billboard, as of Nov. 24, the record has sold at least 2.8 million copies in the United States alone. Among the 2.8 million copies, 1.45 million are digital albums, another record for the digital album set.

Nielsen Music has been tracking single-week album sales since 1991, and the title-holder for most record sales in a week was previously held by pop band *NSYNC, with their March 2000 release of "No Strings Attached," which sold 2,416,000 during its first week.

Speaking of *NSYNC, the boys were proud to lose their title to Adele, as singer turned host Lance Bass took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the British singer/songwriter's success.

USA Today reports that according to Joey Fatone, "Records are always meant to be broken, but with technology and current music business model, I thought this one would be tough to beat. In all honesty, Adele is the truth—kinda excited a rare talent like hers is in the same breath as our group. I’m a huge fan….I even bought the damn album."

Meanwhile, back in Adele's homeland, she is also set to make U.K. chart history by selling 300,000 copies in the country alone. According to The Guardian, two other albums have sold over 500,000 copies in one week, namely "Progress" by Take That, which was released in November 2010 and "Be Here Now" by Oasis, which was released in August 1997. Adele's carrier single, "Hello," has also gone platinum and became the U.K.'s fastest-selling song of the year.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old performer has been busy promoting her record, appearing in last week's "Saturday Night Live," this week's "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", where she sang her hit "Hello" with the host and The Roots. More recently, she dropped by TODAY to perform "Million Years Ago" and talk about her massive success with "25" so far.

"It's pretty overwhelming but it's incredible," Adele admitted to host Matt Lauer. "The reaction getting here this morning, with me being here is so beautiful, so nice."

"I feel like I kind of knew what I was getting into this time, not that I expected this kind of reaction. Because I've experienced the success of '21,' I was a little less frightened this time," she said when Lauer asked about how she felt towards the listeners' reaction following her other hit record, "21."

"When it happened on '21,' I was clueless, it never happened to me before," Adele explained. "So I'm a little bit prepared for it this time. I also got a kid, which is the most grounding thing as I'm sure any parent will know."
