Early in this month of December, the DC Superhero fans have gotten quite a good appetizer when "Arrow" and "The Flash," two of The CW Network's popular comic-inspired hit TV series, did two crossover episodes. The temporary merge was supposed to pave the way for the launch of another CW Network and DC series, the "Legends of Tomorrow."

And, now the much-anticipated entrée was about to be served. "Originally announced early in 2015, the now-titled DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" has earned a series order from the network. Featuring both established players from "Arrow" and "The Flash" as well as new DC characters, the show is possibly the closest we'll ever get to a Justice League live-action TV series," notes Cinema Blend on the new CW series.

As for the update, CW has just released the new character posters for the show, which allows fans to get a glimpse of the cast donning their respective superhero costumes. You can check out the character posters here courtesy of Enstarz.com.

The premiere for "Legends of Tomorrow" will have an air date on Thursday, January 21st at 8 pm. And could possible run for 13 or 15 episodes, wrote Den of Geek.

The cast of "Legends of Tomorrow" will include some new and familiar faces with the likes of Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer aka The Atom, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance aka White Canary, Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall aka Hawkman, Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter. Casper Crump will be playing the role of Vandal Savage, the main villain in the show.

Meanwhile, the "Prison Break" duo of Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold) and Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave) will also be part of the show, but this time on the superhero side. Another tandem will comprise the cast as Victor Garber is set to portray Professor Martin Stein who is half of the character Firestorm and Franz Drameh as Jefferson "Jax" Jackson for the other half.

"Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself," according to The CW's official synopsis for the upcoming series.
