'Captain America: Civil War' Rumors: Three Avengers Will Die in Upcoming Movie -- Which Characters? [Rumors]

Fans are certainly excited for “Captain America: Civil War” as it rolls out this year but, for sure, no one is excited for their favorite superhero to die. However, rumors suggest that three death scenes have been filmed for the movie, suggesting, of course, death.

Comic Book Resources reported that the rumor comes from YouTube's famous “That Hashtag Show,” which claims that directors Anthony and Joe Russo worked on filming three death scenes for the upcoming superhero clash movie. Some of the death scenes, however, were meant as misdirection.

CBR reported THS's unnamed sources revealed that one of the three characters will be wounded in the movie. Here are the three:

War Machine

Don Cheadle's James Rhodes/War Machine (or War Hammer, according to CBR) does have a scene in the trailer where he's injured and cradled by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man. However, Cinema Blend stated that, because he was featured that way in the trailer, it might be unlikely that he'll be the one to die.

Scarlet Witch

While Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch has only showed up a few times in the Marvel movies to date, the rumor stated that she's one of the candidates and CB claimed that she's the one most likely to die in the film.

This is because of rumors saying that Paul Bettany's Vision will be leaving the earth at the end of the movie. It is believed that Scarlet Witch dies fighting against Daniel Bruhl's Baron Zemo and her death prompts the Vision to leave.

The Falcon

Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon is also rumored to die, although CB believes it's unlikely.

Earlier reports from THS said that Chris Evans' Steve Rogers/Captain America himself will die at the end of the film after surrendering himself to protect his allies. A scene featuring Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Falcon, and Emily VanCamp's Sharon Carter/Agent 13 picking up Cap's shield has been shown, implying that either one of them will be the next Captain America.

Recent comics have shown that both Bucky and Falcon have carried on the star-spangled identity. As such, CB believes that, most likely, Falcon will survive.

These are still rumors, though, so fans will just have to wait for confirmation, likely when the film is released.
