Thinking of going under the knife but not sure what to do? FOX News reports that you can now have free plastic surgery consultations in the comfort of your own home.

According to the news outlet, those unsure whether to get a plastic surgery can now consult professional plastic surgeons online for free through an app called Zwivel. PR Newswire reports that Zwivel was co-founded by Dr. Gary D. Breslow, a board certified New Jersey-based plastic surgeon, who was recently named 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as Dr. Craig Abramowitz.

Zwivel, launched just last year, is a consultation platform that aims to minimize the hassle of cosmetic consultation. According to Zwivel's website, once signed up, users can easily click which body changes they want to be done, upload photos of the concerned area, videos, estimate budget, location, etc. They can choose from a range of surgeons within their location and have online consultations and feedback from their chosen surgeons without even leaving the couch. Once the patient hears from the surgeon, they can opt to schedule a full consultation with their desired time and date.

"Zwivel introduces efficiency into the frustratingly inefficient cosmetic consultation process," says Dr. Beslow as quoted by PR Newswire.

"This unique platform enables the patient to get to know a plastic surgeon before they come into the office, which leads to shorter, more productive in-office consultations, increased conversion rates for cosmetic doctors, and less time wasted for both cosmetic patients and doctors," he added.

According to FOX News, all the information divulged by the user is totally secured and private. Information security of the app follows Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and current health regulations.

With regards to the legitimacy of the experts, American Spa notes that the doctors in Zwivel has a system where they search for each expert's license, board certification status and training. Also, Zwivel calls each doctor's office for confirmation. The publication also notes that Zwivel does not only make online consultation easier but also makes plastic surgery more accessible to the public.

"Zwivel is the Uber of plastic surgeons, an app for people in need of a nearby doctor for their next nip or tuck," says Cosmopolitan writer Jen Vafidis about her first impression when trying the app.

PR Newswire reports that Zwivel currently has over 750 plastic surgeons registered in their system and is in the process of upgrading its app services. Recently, they have partnered with CareCredit and Prosper Healthcare Lending to create Zwivel Premium.
