Peruvian cuisine is experiencing a trajectory growth and it has the potential to be the next food craze this year since new restaurants will open to offer the dishes.

The dishes from Peru will likely be the new taste this year. Big Hospitality reported that the team behind London's Michelin-starred LIMA and LIMA FLORAL restaurants would roll out another LIMA Dell concept after its debut at Harrods.

LIMA, an award-winning Peruvian restaurant, will offer Peru dishes in the U.K. starting next month at the Harrods Food Hall.

"We are extremely excited to be welcoming LIMA to the Harrods Food Hall, a fantastic addition to the diverse food scene within the store. As a market leader in food trends, offering our loyal customers the best and latest in food is at the fore of our brand values and LIMA brings something extremely innovative to the current offering," said Bruce Langlands, director of Food and Restaurants at Harrods, BRIC+ New World News reported.

"The cuisine is unique and exceptionally well executed. LIMA will join the Food Halls in March as we celebrate the best of food produce with our 'Cracking Gourmet' store campaign."

LIMA co-owner Gabriel Gonzalez revealed that the team was interested in launching more venues after Harrods. However, it would not be easy. He disclosed that among their struggles are to transform their product into a mass-market format.

Gonzalez shared that they will be keeping the Peruvian flavors and everything that entails that acidity and chilies. However, they will create and offer a more simplified version.

If their project will be successful, they will expand and venture on other retail opportunities. They are considering to launch a series of "Lima-Deli" shops.

Latin Correspondent reported that the Peruvian cuisine is popular within Latin America. However, the dishes have gained worldwide recognition. In fact, Lima co-owner Virgilio Martinez' Central restaurant in the Peruvian capital was named the fourth best in the world in 2015.

The head chef Diego Muñoz's Astrid y Gastón earned the fourteenth spot on the list. Maido, on the other hand, is another Lima restaurant that serves Japanese and Peruvian fusion dishes also made it to the top 50.

Latin American cuisine is often unfairly consigned to the fast food scrap heap. However, the opening of new stores offering Peruvian dishes might open a new era for Latin American food.

If Harrods food hall will be successful, then the Gonzalez brothers will be putting up a series of deli-style stores across London that might bridge the gap between fine dining and fast food. Moreover, it will grow the popularity of Peruvian dishes.
