Cigarette smoking enhances the risk of early death. Even one cigarette can be the key cause of reducing the lifetime. Life is precious and one cigarette can be very dangerous to destroy it.

This modern age is the age to celebrate and enjoy life. Modern medical science is continuously trying to invent ways to offer a better and healthy life to an individual. But cigarette can be a crucial cause to stop that effort.

Every day researchers are trying their best to explore new secrets behind different health problems to find solutions. Recently, sources from EurekAlert report that the National Cancer Institute has released a report which reveals the bad effect of cigarette smoking.

The report confirms that a person who smokes one cigarette on a regular basis has the "64 percent higher risk of earlier death" compared to the non-smokers.

Even smokers who consume 1 to 10 cigarettes daily acquire the risk of early death up to 87% compared to the non-smokers.

The complete report is released in JAMA Internal Medicine of the JAMA Network.

The researchers of NCI or the National Cancer Institute have revealed some serious information. Their research team has observed that a smoker with one cigarette per day increases the probability of death from lung cancer nine times more than a general non-smoker.

Persons who consume regularly 10 to 12 cigarettes actually increases the chances of death 12 times higher.

Even smokers, who take 1 to 10 cigarettes daily, become the victim of respiratory problems, like emphysema and acquire the acute risk of death six times more than a normal person who avoids smoking.

Famous US Surgeon General's report in 1964 first claimed that smoking is an acute cause of lung cancer. Later, many other reports are placed to show that cigarette smoking is fatal for health, even if it is only one cigarette per day.

A health study performed by the scientists of the NIH-AARP has discovered some unique information. The study was done among 290,000 participants and only 1500 participants say that they consume 1 to 10 cigarettes on  a regular basis.

Actually, the scientists have created a parameter to indicate the actual meaning of low-intensity smoking. They say a smoker with 1 to 10 cigarettes per day belongs to the low-intensity smoking group, and honestly, the health study reveals that the number of this group is too low.

One of the key authors of the study, Maki Inoue-Choi, Ph.D., NCI has uniquely said," The results of this study support health warnings that there is no safe level of exposure to tobacco smoke".

Even the study also added, "Together, these findings indicate that smoking even a small number of cigarettes per day has substantial negative health effects".
