Zika virus, the much discussed virus in Brownsville and Texas is creating a threat over the babies to be born. The health departments already warned women to wait for 8 months before getting pregnant and men to wait for 6 months before impregnating women. This avoids the risk of giving birth to the Zika infected deficient infants and their mortality rate.

The areas of Brownsville and Texas are largely at risk. It is a known fact that the Zika virus is spread through mosquitoes. The climate in Brownsville helps the mosquitoes in breeding at a faster rate .The high rate of mosquitoes also causes the spread of the disease in a serious manner.

The authorities are having a hard time to control such a traumatic situation. It is also hard to find a severely affected person of this disease, as they hardly show any symptoms for such people. Only the mildly affected people have some sort of symptoms.

The couples who expect to be parents soon are highly at risk. With the spread of Zika virus the population rate of the area is going to drastically affect. The government in Brownsville and Texas need to look into this issue seriously. Such an adverse situation could only be handled if there are proper measures to avoid the high rate of mosquitoes.

A future generation is at stake due to the uncontrolled growth of mosquito breeding rates. According to The New York Times, fetus of the infected women are hard to survive. Even if survivedn those infants are prone to severe brain damage and other deficiencies like blindness, seizures, deafness, small heads etc.

The couples are advised to take precautionary measures during sexual intercourse to avoid the risk of virus through sexual transmission. The Centers for disease Control and Prevention have reported several Zika infected cases in the last few weeks. Texas Department of State Health Services officials recommend people, who have visited Brownsville and Texas on or after Oct 29th  to have a Zika test.
