Apple iPhone 8 will have Foldable OLED Display with new Touch Sensing Technology

The OLED iPhone 8 may be curved on all sides, Apple claimed to test new touch controls It is no secret that the upcoming iPhone 8 will have an OLED edge-to-edge display. The excitement levels raised exponentially after the OLED display rumor surfaced that it will be included in the upcoming iPhone.

As per sources, Apple is said to have ordered OLED displays from Samsung Display. The displays are plastic OLED and not glass OLED aggravating the rumors that it will be a curved screen. Phone Arena reported that Samsung Display is capable of producing 100 million units of plastic OLED Display for Apple. The sources also suggest that the upcoming iPhone 8 will not have any physical home screen and it will be replaced by a pressure sensing layer beneath the OLED display to sense touch which is touted as a 3D Touch component.The edge-to-edge display will have very slim bezels thus eliminating the usual design followed by iPhones.

According to Tech Times, the upcoming iPhone 8 will have curved displayed on all sides and will be completely bezel-free in order to keep up with the waterfall trend. Apart from Samsung, Apple has urged LG Display to produce flexible OLED displays which are expected to deliver over 200 million units by 2018.

 As per sources, Apple ordered plastic OLED displays as plastic is more durable, flexible, and foldable than glass which means the future iPhones will have plastic substrate OLED display and might undergo extreme folds by it is currently under development. The new touch sensing technology will have added features to the already available 3D Touch. In order to beat Apple, a fierce approach made by Samsung to unveil its full OLED bezel-less Samsung Galaxy S8 have started catching attention. Samsung will unveil its masterpiece in April 2017 before the iPhone 8 could launch.

In a face-off between Apple iPhone 7 Vs Samsung Galaxy S7, the later won with its astonishing design, display whereas the former had major plus points in terms of Software and performance which are almost unmatchable. Until there is no official announcement, nothing is confirmed yet thus the customers will have to wait for the announcements to arrive.
