"Is anybody out there?" is the question that has been boggling the minds of astro-scientists over the years regarding the existence of aliens in the outer space. Now it seems they are on the verge of doing something deemed impossible so far i.e. making their voice heard in space, hoping someone will respond back someday.

According to the Daily Express New San Francisco based organization messaging Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (METI) plans to go ahead and interact with our distant neighbors by transmitting cosmic messages.

The first task they will be doing is sending signals to planets orbiting Proxima Centauri, the closest star having a proximity with our Sun. After that powerful messages in the form of conversation openers will be sent to farther planets via radio or laser signals by the end of 2018. METI was founded last year and is looking to raise $1million every year to get the possession on a powerful transmitter in a remote location.

Douglas Vakoch, president of METI and former director of Interstellar Message Composition at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute (SETI) believes there is a need to learn and share more information if humans expect to initiate communication exchange by future generations.

Prior to this, scientists in their endless Endeavour to find alien existence have cited Life could theoretically exist on Mars or though highly unlikely on Europa, a moon of Jupiter, which appears to have an underground ocean reports Live Science.

Jacob Haqq-Misra, an astronomer at Pennsylvania State University believes that considering the advancement in astrophysics and the ever growing human reach in the solar system its possible that some kind of life may have evolved in the deep oceans of Europa.

In Haqq-Misra's words "intelligent extraterrestrial beings have traveled from a distant star system and taken up residence in the solar system. They might be living in an underground base on Mars or the moon, or they could be residing in the asteroid belt (or any number of other plausible, albeit unlikely, options)."

Meanwhile, the move from METI comes despite stern warnings from the likes of Professor Stephen Hawkins on the possibility of a hostile retaliation from intelligent aliens if they ever come in human contact.
