Another Hollywood love story bites the dust. Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are officially divorced after their year long split. Two years into marriage they realized it was a wrong decision as there were far too many compatibility issues.

Mail Online reports both actors agreed upon sharing the physical as well as legal custody of their three year old son Maceo. The terms of settlement regarding the property remains unresolved, considering its a case of prenuptial agreement its a bit surprising.

Compared to Matinez, Halle Berry has been a more accomplished star-actor with popular films like the X-Men franchisee and the blockbuster Bond movie "Die Another Day".

According to People despite filing for divorce just days after one another, Martinez allowed Berry to leave him first. The California law does not allow both partners to approach the court of law for filing a divorce petition, the "Catwoman" actress reportedly made the first move.

The pair have remained friends since and have also gone on vacations together with their son and Berry's 8 year old daughter Nahla from her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. "They are devoted to their children and co-parent quite amicably," a source close to the couple revealed adding "That is their new normal."

The real reason for the couples split was rumored to be X-Men actress Berry's higher career graph. She was a bigger name and this created differences between the pair. There were unverified stories of their showdowns.

For more than a year they have been living in separate homes and it was evident that a reunion was not on the cards. Another source close to the couple confirmed the rumors, 'Everything about her emasculated him: She was beautiful, iconic, employed and the breadwinner,'

Berry's success might have reminded Matinez of his failures. On the brighter side both of them seem to have moved on and they have been mature enough to mutually agree on things for the sake of their children's future.
