'DCEU' Update : Mera Will Have an Important Role in 'Justice League'

Geoff Johns, the Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics is known for his fascination for Aquaman. That includes his wife and Queen of the Atlantis, Mera played by Amber Heard. That's why he teases her importance in the upcoming 'Justice League' movie in his tweet :

"@ZackSnyder @justiceleaguewb live action on the big screen! She was in Smallville, but looking forward to the big role the Queen deserves!"

Aquaman and Mera will make their big screen debut in the movie, and continues their role in a solo 'Aquaman' movie directed by James Wan. The movie, according to the daily mail, will start filming at Australia this May.

 Playing alongside Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Mera will have a vital role in the upcoming DC superhero team-up according to Johns's tweet. She previously made an appearance in 'Smallville' TV series according to comicbook.com. Portrayed briefly by Elena Satine, Mera's involvement in the episode were crucial, where she saved the "would-be Justice League". And this tweet by Johns is sure to make her role in the 'Justice League' movie is more than just saving his husband and his band of superheroes from drowning.

Geoff Johns played a hand in bringing Aquaman as a household name for DC Comics thanks to his writing in "DC's NEW 52" run of 'Aquaman' and 'Justice League'. In those titles the fans grew to love and fascinated by Johns take on the King of Atlantis. Since confirming his involvement in the later installments of DCEU, Johns has been regarded as the savior of the cinematic take of the world's greatest heroes, continuing his record as the one who single-handedly saved the DC Universe in comics.

In other news, IGN already released an article that shows a photo of Amber Heard as Mera. The costume was designed by Michael Wilkinson, who also designed the costumes for other characters in the movie.

'Justice League' will be released November this year, and directed by Zack Snyder.
