Star Wars Update : Woody Harrelson Involvement In 'Han Solo Spin-off' Film Confirmed By Director

Veteran actor Woody Harrelson joins the cast of Star Wars Han Solo spin-off movie. He joins Alden Ehrenreich who will be the young Han Solo, with Donald Glover as the younger Lando Calrissian. His role is yet to be revealed though, with no news or confirmation comes from the studio except his involvement in this movie.

Star Wars official site states that the 'Hunger Games' alumni will be the perfect addition to the cast. Where the story will be revolving on the younger days of the iconic space-smuggler that is Han Solo before his involvement in the battles against The Empire (Episodes IV,V and VI). And this movie will be a second entry to the title 'A Star Wars Story' after last year's release of 'Rogue One'.

IGN adds more to the report, stating that the two directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller casts Woody Harrelson for his ability to nail both comedy and drama at the same time. "We couldn't be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody," said Lord and Miller. "His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique.". These statements further suggest that a certain amount of comedy in the movie. Where Han Solo himself had a few funny one-liners in his previous portrayals in the Star Wars saga.

Furthermore, according to USA today the Oscar nominee is set to star in this year's release of the sequel of 'the planets of the apes' franchise titled 'War of the Planets of the Apes' released July 14. Along with a coming-of-age comedy 'Edge of Seventeen' this March 24.

Han Solo spin-off movie is told to start filming this year and expected to end on May next year. There are no confirmed release date however from the studio, but rumors states that it will release at December next year, just like 'Rogue One' release last year.
