It seems that both Nokia and Blackberry are off to a great start in 2017. After staying far away from the tech world, both the tech biggies are all set to bounce back into the mainstream.  There is no doubt that both these companies had been a landmark when people first started using cell phones. However, with the coming of smartphones, both these brands were somewhat forgotten. But it seems, the wait is finally over for the fans of these two giant brands as they are all set to step into the smartphone world.

According to CNET, the coming up of the iPhone had changed the process of communication. While Samsung and Apple managed to master the technology, both Nokia and Blackberry failed to appeal to the masses. Even though these tech giants didn't disappear from the market, they are all set to make a comeback this year. Nokia 6 and Blackberry Mercury are the two flagship smartphones expected to release this year.

As per the latest news, both Blackberry Mercury and Nokia 6 are expected to launch at the Mobile World Congress. The event has always been the most talked about one since it showcases the latest gadgets. It goes without saying that launching these two latest phones on such a platform would invariably help the companies gather good media attention. Apart from this, both the companies wouldn't feel the extra pressure of a stand-alone launch.

Interestingly, as per The Mirror, neither Blackberry nor Nokia is putting their names on the devices. Nokia is licensed by HMD and manufactured by Foxconn FIH Mobile. Blackberry on the other hand has complete control over Blackberry Hub, however, TCL holds the manufacturing license. So, the burden of the smartphone isn't borne by the companies alone.

Another welcoming change that users get to see in both these devices is that they are Android supported. The Nokia 6 would be the first ever device from the company to include Android operating system. While, Blackberry Mercury would include Android as well as the company's own security software. Now, even though Nokia 6 is already available in China, there is very little information about Blackberry Mercury.
