Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat… What’s next? Android OS’ have been obviously following names of sweet treats. It is already given that Android O would be this year’s update following the release of the Android Nougat last year. Hence, the leaked name for the Android O is touted as Oreo. In that case, Google would yet again need usage rights as what happened in the previous KitKat name.

Google’s long tradition of naming OS’ update had been clearly alphabetical. So far what we have and had now are Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat which was released last year. Moreover, as the codes likely had undergone a massive change from Marshmallow to Nougat, android users expect more from the upcoming OS. PC Advisor noted that some of the unexpected names that Google could come up with is just limited and gives Oreo the upper hand title. Choices expected includes Orange, Oatcake and more. Despite speculations, confirmation on the official name is yet to be announced.

According to PC Tablet mentioned that the 8.0 OS would be tweaked as to the point that applications not necessary would be closed permanently. That indeed seems convenient as users today are still required to shut down their not needed applications. In addition, desktop support tools are also expected to be widely enhanced as well. Rumors also had it that Google would also launch a certified accessory program upon the update’s release.

On top of that, the reports also state that the new OS would be able to compete with iPhone’s Siri. How? Oreo had been guessed to be indulged in Google’s Assistant and Launcher integration. The update seemed to be affected by Google’s latest technology releases, specifically its Google Home assistant. With that said, users could now manage their apps with both an assistant and launcher.

Monthly patches are also expected to be integrated into the mobile’s security system which is to inscribe numerous security exploits for users. The awaited next Android OS update is expected to be launched early August/September this year.
