It appears that Samsung's digital assistant is all set to give Apple a real run for its money. Bixby, the digital assistant is all set to appear with Galaxy S8 and it will be able to search for the items based on what the user's camera points at. As per reports, the users would be able to access it using a Bixby button on the device.

Importantly, the camera app on the phone would include the Bixby mode that would allow users to have access to the virtual search tool. According to BGR, the feature would help users process whatever the user's camera points towards. However, using Optical Character Recognition or OCR capability, the virtual assistant would be able to recognize images, texts as well as identify objects that come within the frame.

Interestingly, the Bixby feature does more than  just identifying objects. It comes with a superb functionality and a better degree of connecting other apps. For instance, it would help the users find the place they can buy identified objects and buy it as well. Now, to make the purchase part work along with identifying the object, Samsung might include Samsung Pay Mini in S8.

As per Mashable, the Samsung Pay Mini would allow users to make direct payments through Bixby. According to information shared on Samsung's website, the Samsung Pay Mini might come pre installed with Galaxy S8. Those wondering what exactly the Mini app would be, it is similar to Samsung's mobile payment system, Samsung Pay. As per reports, the payment might allow users to make online payment only, unlike the regular versions that allow payments for transactions in regular stores.

Samsung is planning to launch Bixby on Samsung S8 and Samsung Note 8. It is believed that right before the launch, the tech giant might add or remove rumored features from the devices. Even though the rumored AI assistant is expected to debut with two latest models, it won't be confined to these two models only. In the upcoming years, it might be available for other models as well.
