Recently, Ed Sheeran a 25 year old English singer - songwriter had been featured in British GQ. In the interview, Sheeran had admitted that he and Taylor Swift (his best friend) were on the same track ever since. He stated that their unpopularity had been their inspiration to be on top but it seems like they had overdone it now.

According to TIME, Ed had described how Taylor and his situation were before their stardom. Ed had mentioned how they were unpopular back then, and then suddenly became one of the talks of the town. Ed had stated that "There's an underdog element to it. Taylor was never the popular kid in school. I was never the popular kid in school. Then you get to the point when you become the most popular kid in school - and we both take it a bit too far." He also added that they had achieved their fame now because of their ambitions and how their critics never believed in their capabilities as reported by Perez Hilton. Sheeran said that, "She wants to be the biggest female artist in the world and I want to be the biggest male artist in the world. It also comes from always being told that you can't do something and being like, 'F**k you. I can."

And now the "Castle on the Hill" singer is quite confident that no matter how many singer- songwriters may rise now, he is sure that he will stand out from the rest and that he will surely win the race. However, he is a bit threatened with Adelle in terms of records sales even though they were in a different genre. He just wants to set the benchmark with Adelle because she sells more records than him in the past ten years. With regards to his best friend, Taylor and he are both supporting each other's careers.
