‘Scandal’ Season 6 Spoilers: Did Cyrus Kill Frankie? Bellamy Young Drops Hints On Premiere Episode

Election results are in! But sadly, "Scandal" Season 6 premiere showed Republican Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) unexpectedly lost to Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira.) But not long enough, Frankie was shot which then gave way to Fitz to choose Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) to be the 45th President.

Regarding the speculations on who killed Frankie, it was shown in the episode that Jennifer Fields left a message that pointed Cyrus as the killer. Yet, Bellamy Young stated on Variety that she still doesn’t know whether what episode would the truth as Cyrus being the killer would unfold. More or less, she said that Mellie still doesn’t know as well who Frankie’s killer is.

With Quinn (Katie Lowes) and Huck (Guillermo Díaz) finding Jennifer’s burnt hand in a cabin, Young stated that despite the unknown truth, it is given that Jennifer’s story is essential to prove Cyrus’ innocence or guilt. Young also mentioned that Mellie is disappointed with Fitz choosing Cyrus over her. Yet, she pointed that Mellie is smart enough to understand that since Cyrus is Frankie’s VP, the people would choose him.

Young answered that she thinks that Olivia is definitely going to pin Cyrus down, which is hinted in the Season 6 Episode 2 promo of “Scandal.” Olivia is also a woman that is need of a mission she stated.

Meanwhile, since the "Scandal" season 6 premiere date had been postponed to pave the way to ABC’s Trump special, Shonda Rhimes, "Scandal" creator cleared on Philly regarding the issue of the Trump-like election premiere. “The goal was really just to tell the story that we had been telling and had been on the journey to tell the entire time, and we are continuing to tell it." She stated.

Rest assured, “Scandal” ladies, Kerry Washington along with Young cleared on E Online that there would still be romance plots ahead. Kerry then hinted that the romantic developments may not be what fans expected but everything would be worth the wait.

Nonetheless, fans could still scour for more details on "Scandal" Season 6, Episode 2 titled “Hardball”, set to air on Feb. 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
