'Ocean's 8' Release Date: 'Ocean's Eleven' Spinoff Anticipated In The Middle Of 2018

After the three-movie blockbuster films, "Ocean's Eleven," "Ocean's Twelve" and "Ocean's 13" that earned a gross of $1 billion worldwide, "Ocean's 8" will take the heist to the next level. The movie is speculated to be a blockbuster in 2018.

Gary Ross (the man behind "The Hunger Games," "Seabiscuit" and "Free State of Jones" by Mathew McConaughey) will be directing the anticipated "Ocean's 8" for next year. Per The Hollywood Reporter, this will be played by big names in the industry such as Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson and Anne Hathaway.

"In summer 2018, the tide will turn as Debbie Ocean (Bullock) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at the New York City's star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew," a statement for "Ocean's 8's" first image explained.

Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean played by George Clooney in "Ocean's Eleven," convinces seven other ladies to join the heist in New York City. The crew namely Lou, played by Blanchett, Nine Ball played by Rihanna, Amita by Kaling, Constance by Awkwafina, Rose by Carter, Daphne Kluger by Hathaway and Tammy by Paulson, were chosen to perform the unthinkable swoop of events.

"Ocean's 8" was conceived by producer Jerry Weintraub together with Soderbergh and Clooney. The development also began last October 25, 2016, and is recently wrapped up shooting in New York.

The script is written by Olivia Milch. It was also announced that Anna Wintour, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Derek Blasberg, Lauren Santo Domingo, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Katie Holmes, Olivia Munn, Hailey Baldwin and Zayn Malik were to make cameo appearances in the film. "Ocean's 8" also stars Damian Lewis and James Corden with a special participation from Matt Damon, who starred in previous installments of the movie.

Derived from the film "Ocean's Eleven," "Ocean's 8" is expected to hit theaters on June 8, 2018. This will bring the story of Ocean's trilogy into a high level of girl power.
