Square Enix's most popular game title has just turned 30. The video game developer hosted an event in Tokyo to celebrate the 30th year of the "Final Fantasy" video game series.

The first "Final Fantasy" video game was launched in Japan in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The game was released in North America three years later in 1990.

In 1997, the popular Square Enix game franchise left the 2D graphics of Nintendo to create the 3D "Final Fantasy VII" RPG for Sony PlayStation. In 2016, the game developer launched "FFXV" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

At the "FF" Anniversary event hosted by Square Enix, the game developer announced a number of things that fans can expect from the company's current and upcoming "FF" titles.

Though the game developer has announced a number of updates for the "FF" game series, the update that the fans of the video game franchise really wanted to hear was not given. Details about the "Final Fantasy VII" remake were not announced.

The only "FFVII" related information that the game developer unveiled during the "Final Fantasy" 30th year anniversary is a new key art for the game. The new "FF7" remake key art features Cloud and Sephiroth.

The "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" release date was also announced during the event. The "FFXII" PlayStation 4 remaster is set to be released on July 11, 2017. "Final Fantasy XV" is also set to get an update. Booster packs will be made available to "FFXV" players on Feb. 21.

Noctis and his party will also get new suits on the 21st. A power ranger inspired Magitek Exosuits will released with the Booster packs. The "FFXV" Magitek Exosuits are not just for show as it grants Noctis and his crew 30 minutes of invincibility.
