Rihanna will be appearing as Marion Crane in the psychological horror drama TV series "Bates Motel". The singer is featured in a new Season 5 trailer for the A&E network hit TV series.

In the recently released "Bates Motel" Season 5 trailer, Rihanna entered the motel and asked a room from Norman Bates. The scene where Rihanna is featured could be seen at the end of the trailer.

The new "Bates Motel" Season 5 trailer also showed Norman Bates peeping through a hole. The running water from a shower can be heard in the background during this scene. The sound of the shower is very reminiscent of the iconic shower scene from the Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film "Pyscho." The "Bates Motel" TV series is said to be the contemporary prequel to the Hitchcock film.

Marion Crane, originally played by Janet Leigh, met her tragic death while having a shower. In the 1960 "Psycho" film, Norman Bates appeared from behind Crane and stabbed her multiple times. The recently released trailer for the A&E drama seems to suggest that the TV series will recreate the iconic scene. But this time, it will be Rihanna playing the gorgeous character.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Bates Motel" executive producer Kerry Ehrin said that Rihanna will be portraying a very different Marion Crane. According to Ehrin, Rihanna's Marion Crane in Season 5 will be a fleshed-out version of the attractive woman.

It can be remembered that the A&E show's producers approached the "Love On The Brain" singer for the role after she revealed on Vanity Fair that she is a fan of "Bates Motel." The producers announced at Comic-Con Friday that the singer will play Marion Crane for Season 5.

According to Ehrin, putting a contemporary spotlight and redefining the character in a meaningful and exciting way is the direction they like to take for Marion Crane in the "Bates Motel". Rihanna will appear on "Bates Motel" Season 5, which will premiere on Feb. 20.
