'Doctor Who' Peter Capaldi Reveals Who He Wants To Play The 13th Doctor

Peter Capaldi has just announced that he will be leaving the hit show "Doctor Who" this 2017. Known as the twelfth Doctor in the TV series, Capaldi's take of the role has received good praises.

Peter Capaldi made his first appearance as the time travelling humanoid alien during the show's fiftieth anniversary special in 2013. The anniversary special was titled "The Day of the Doctor".

In the 2013 Christmas episode, entitled "The Time of the Doctor, Capaldi made his first full appearance as "Doctor Who". Capaldi followed Matt Smith, who played the eleventh Doctor.

Capaldi has just announced that he will be living the show this year. In an interview with The Mirror, Capaldi said that "The time felt right to bow out."

After Capadli's announcement, speculations about who will play the 13th Doctor flooded the internet. Even the 12th Doctor pitched in as to who he wants to play number 13.

According to Capaldi, it is about time that a woman should play the lead role in "Doctor Who." Capaldi said he would like Frances De La Tour to play the 13th Doctor.

A lot of the show's fans are actually rooting for De La Tour to take the role. Fans believe that its time to add a bit of diversity to the role that has been played by male actors for 12 times.

Though fans would like to see a female "Doctor Who", show insiders said that Chris Chibnall, the incoming boss of the show, prefer Andre Buchan to take the role. Chibnall and Buchan has worked with each other in the past.

A lot of other names have been floated online for the role. Olivia Colman, Ben Wishaw and even Peter Dinklage is being linked to the role. Capaldi will be playing the lead role in "Doctor Who" up until the end of this year.
