Pregnant ladies should take care of their food intake and consume only the ones that are important for the health of baby and mother.

Below is a list of foods that a pregnant woman should avoid:

Soft cheeses with white rinds

A pregnant woman should not eat soft cheeses with white rinds like camembert and bris. Although one can eat a small portion if cooked.

A pregnant woman should not eat blue-veined cheeses like gorgonzola, Danish blue, and roquefort; these can be eaten only if it's cooked. Pregnant ladies are advised to avoid soft cheeses as they carry low acid and more moisture. It is a good place to grow bacteria, like listeria.

Pregnant women should also avoid eating partially cooked eggs or raw eggs to avoid having salmonella. Eat only when eggs are fully cooked. In fact, it will not harm either mother or infant but it can create vomiting and diarrhea.

Do not eat undercooked meat or raw meat including steaks and meat joints.

Raw or undercooked meat is risky during pregnancy because of the risk of toxoplasmosis. Pregnant women can eat meat items like pork and poultry only after thoroughly cooked, experts from NHS says. The experts also say that there will not remain any content of pink or blood in the meat items.

 It has to be steamed well until it became enough cooked. They also advised that pregnant woman should wash all the cooking utensils along with the surface to avoid spreading of harmful bugs after washed the meat, Baby Center reports.

The pregnant ladies also should wash the hands after handled the chicken or any other type of meat. Do not eat liver and its byproducts include liver sausage, haggis, and liver pâté. The liver is a rich source of vitamin A if a pregnant woman consumes lots of vitamins it is harmful to the fetus, NHS reports.
