E cigarettes are a lot safer than normal tobacco cigarettes claimed a landmark study. Interstingly, the e cig devcies are safer and less toxic claimed a research published in Annals of Internal Medicine. The study was mainly conducted on e cig smokers who have been vaping for at least six months.

Smoking e cigarettes is safer and less toxic than regular tobacco cigarettes claimed a study while analyzing the levels of dangerous cancer causing toxins in the body claimed Reuters. Researchers have recently found that people who have switched to e cigarattes from normal cigarettes or doing through NRT( Nicotine Replacement Therapy) for six months and more have lower levels of toxins in the urine and saliva.

"Our study adds to existing evidence showing that e-cigarettes and NRT are far safer than smoking, and suggests that there is a very low risk associated with their long-term use," said Lion Shahab, an epidemiology expert University College London.

According to The Mirror, ex smokers who shifted to NRT or e cigarettes had lower levels of toxic chemicals in their body compared to those who still continued smoking regular cigarettes. Interestingly, those who continued smoking e cigarattes as well as regular cigarettes didn't show same results. This highlighted that a complete switch over is needed to reduce the exposure of toxins.

Lion Shahab, who led the work claimed, "We've shown that the levels of toxic chemicals in the body from e-cigarettes are considerably lower than suggested in previous studies using simulated experiments. He even added that doubts about safety of the e cigarettes might be wrong.

The results suggest that e cigs are not only safer, but the amount of nicotine in it is also less compared to regular cigarettes. He claimed that this study can also help people to get rid of smoking by dealing with their smoking cravings.
