It is no secret that the Cleveland Cavaliers are playing inconsistently these past few weeks. Even LeBron James admitted that they needed "playmakers." Center Andrew Bogut and point guard Jose Calderon are two players on the Cavs radar to help them shore up their bench issues.

According to a report from ESPN, league sources, speaking on anonymity, reveals that the defending NBA Champions are interested in Jose Calderon of the Los Angeles Lakers and Andrew Bogut of the Dallas Mavericks. Another name being floated is Bogut's Mavericks teammate, Deron Williams.

The chances of the Cavaliers acquiring Andrew Bogut, Jose Calderon, or Deron Williams are slim due to the salary-cap. There are a few ways, however, for the Cleveland Cavaliers to get one or all of the aforementioned players.

One of the ways the Cavs can acquire them is if they get bought out of their contracts. Another way is to clear cap-space by waiving, trading, or buying out some of the Cavaliers' own players.

Seemingly, in an effort to clear cap-space, The Associated Press reports that the Cavaliers have traded Chris Andersen and cash considerations to the Charlotte Hornets for a protected second-round draft pick. The trade not only opened a roster spot for the Cavs but also let them acquire future assets.

The Cavaliers have been fiddling with their line up for a few months now. The Cavs acquired sharp-shooting veteran Kyle Korver and signed recently waived power forward, Derrick Williams to a 10-day contract.

However, if the Cavaliers succeed in clearing salary-cap space and acquiring Jose Calderon and Andrew Bogut, both players will have to play better than they had all season. Currently, Bogut and Calderon are averaging less than 4 points per game and both have not played more than 25 games this season.

Andrew Bogut, a member of the Golden State Warriors team that defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014 NBA Finals. Jose Calderon is a mainstay of the Spanish National Team and has long been considered as a solid backup point guard in the NBA.
