Apple is expected to launch three latest iPhones this year. As per reports, the tech giant has become a member of the Wireless Charging Consortium. The website has also listed the company as one of the 213 members. This has fueled rumors that the company might be launching new devices based on wireless charging.

Even though wireless charging isn't a new concept, Apple has always been cautious about the feature. Apple Watch also works with a magnetic cable that charges product. But none of the iPhones had the feature. It seems the technology is ready and Apple seemed to move ahead with it.

"Apple is joining the Wireless Power Consortium to be able to participate and contribute ideas to the open, collaborative development of future wireless charging standards", said Apple Spokesperson. The tech giant would be the latest company to step in the wireless charging bandwagon.

An Apple analyst from KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo clearly said that the upcoming iPhone might include wireless charging along with the lightning port. According to CNET, Kuo claimed that all three new iPhones would only feature all-glass casings, but also OLED display and wireless charging.

Kuo had also said that wireless charging increases the temperature of smartphones. Keeping this mind, Apple would equip the latest devices with 3D Touch module with extra graphite sheet lamination. This would prevent the device from getting overheated.

There had been rumors that Apple has been looking to embrace technology. In fact, the tech biggie has been trying to get rid of charging cables. However, it has never been seen in its product, except Apple Watch. But the iPhone 8 that is scheduled to release this year might be the first device from the company to have wireless charging as The Independent reported.

Reports also suggest that Apple might launch three models this year, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and a high-end pro model. However, it's not clear if the high-end models or all models would feature wireless charging.
