Space science achieves another milestone with the discovery of 60 new worlds. Interestingly, all the new planets orbit stars that are close to the solar system of the Universe.

Fox News reported that the astronomers opine that 60 new worlds may include similar planets like Earth. That means there will be a strong probability of the existence of life. The astronomers have also found 54 additional planets that ultimately bring the number 114.

Among the 60 new worlds, one planet, named Gliese 411b increases the interest of the astronomers. According to the University of Hertfordshire of the U.K., the planet contains a rocky surface. Even the astronomers call it "super-Earth".

The planet becomes the third-nearest planetary system to the Sun. Gliese 411b or the "super-Earth" orbits a specific star, and the name of the star is Gliese 411. Dr. Mikko Tuomi from the University of Hertfordshire opines that among the 60 new worlds Gliese 411b has the rocky surface, but it is too hot for the existence of life.

Both the "super-Earth" and the Gliese 411are located at a distance of 8 light years from Earth. Recently another planet Proxima b resembles like the Earth and it is located at a distance of 4 light years. Dr. Mikko Tuomi told Fox News that the latest new 60 worlds point out a significant discovery.

This discovery establishes an important fact that the Universe contains more planets and stars. The new 60 worlds also highlight that every star in the Universe has one or more planets that are orbiting it. Dr. Mikko Tuomi also added that the team of astronomers is now preparing to invent giant telescopes that can be helpful to know more about the new planets.

So far the astronomers have explored one essential fact that the new 60 worlds are orbiting stars and most of them are 20 to 300 light years away. INDEPENDENT reported that these space discoveries are the results of the 61,000 individual observations of the 1,600 stars. The US astronomers spent 20 years and used the Keck-I telescope to collect the results of the observations.

The discovery of the new 60 worlds truly unveils a new dimension in the arena of space research. The Universe is the biggest mystery for the space scientists and the astronomers. Discovery of new planets and stars always increases the knowledge and hunger for the next achievement.
