"Suicide Squad 2", the sequel of "Suicide Squad" by David Ayer, is expected to be released on Nov. 1, 2019. The upcoming Warner Bros. movie is most likely to be directed by the Academy Award winner Mel Gibson.

The Variety reported that Warner Bros. is in search of a director for "Suicide Squad 2". The initial talks have been happening between the Warner Bros. and Mel Gibson. Certain other names are also listed to be the director of the movie.

The directors, namely Ruben Fleischer, Daniel Espinosa and Jonathan Levine are also under consideration for the movie "Suicide Squad 2". Warner Bros. is having certain meetings with all these directors, but the producer has not yet announced its choice.

The Hollywood Reporter said that "Suicide Squad 2" is expected to have an entirely different plot from that of the first "Suicide Squad" movie. The sequel won't again be repeating the origin story of the squad. Even the Enchantress can't be expected in the sequel as she was dealt in "Suicide Squad". The romance between the villainous couple Joker and Harley will also be absent in the movie.

"Suicide Squad 2" will be a different experience from that of all other superhero movies. Warner Bros. plans to direct this sequel with a director having no experience in directing superhero movies. This may be the reason why David Ayer's is no longer in the directorial position of the movie.

The expected characters of the movie "Suicide Squad 2" is not confirmed by any official source. But few characters can be visible in flashbacks even if their character are not present for the sequel. Harley Quinn is the much-assured character that would possibly be in the movie.
