“The Last Of Us 2” had tons of questions resurface upon its released trailer. Is Ellie pregnant? Is she raped? Is Joel dead? Does Ellie know the truth already? These are just some of the questions that keep boggling the minds of players. Fortunately, Neil Druckmann’s statement and theories with supporting evidence could hint the answers.

Since the Naughty Dog’s first title, the second installment “The Last Of Us 2” had been all the rage. According to IB Times, the previous “The Last of Us” had a frame wherein Ellie was shown holding a gun thus had players think that Joel might have been infected and that she would kill him. Neil Druckmann still director of “The Last Of Us 2” then admitted that the shot in was actually to deceive people with certain trailers.

Yet, that might be also the case as it was shown in “The Last Of Us 2” trailer that Ellie is speaking to Joel. In addition to that, Druckmann stated on his interview with an Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth that the franchise would indeed focus on hatred and violence. He then also mentioned that he does not feel the need to write a happy ending for the installment.

With that said, Video Games Republic reported that speculations point out that Joel is death and now Ellie is set to revenge him against his killers thus the “hate and violence” idea in the game. Another is that was previously mentioned that Ellie killed Joel herself because she already knows the truth. A third theory also pointed that Joel is indeed dead and his image in the “The Last Of Us 2” trailer is just Ellie’s hallucination since Joel is “bathed” in light.

Another “The Last Of Us 2” theory is that the hate and anger of Ellie would spring from her being pregnant. The theory then speculated that the man lying on the floor dead might be killed by Ellie for raping her. Nonetheless, Naught Dog hasn't yet commented on the theories.

Rest assured, “The Last Of Us 2” players could still expect videos and information in the upcoming months. Amid no official release date, the game could arrive soon as guessed since it was already revealed in the PlayStation Experience 2016 last year. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this June 14 to 16 is also speculated to be the event wherein additional information might be revealed.
