Mothers who eat junk food during pregnancy should provide a good diet to their children. A new study says nutrient-enriched diet can reverse the harmful effects of junk food.

Mail Online reported that most of the times doctors warn pregnant mothers about their diet or food habit. Doctors usually opine that expectant mothers who are prone to junk foods may increase the risk of obese in their children. But a new study reveals that a good diet can save the children from any kind of negative impact on them.

Research scientists from the University of Cincinnati reveal that good diet brings positive effects on the babies. They performed a test on female mice to see the final result. In a word, the scientists tried to test the theory.

To see the effects of good diet the researchers provided a controlled diet to the first group of mice during pregnancy and lactation. On the other hand, the second group was fed with foods high in fat. The third group consumed nutrient-enriched diet at the early stage.

Interestingly the fourth group contained the offspring from the mice that consumed the nutrient-enriched diet. The FASEB Journal reported that when all the mice became adults, then they were put into the "operant behavior chambers". The key aim of the whole process is to know the aftermath of consuming a good diet.

Now "operant behavior chambers" are those small tiny rooms that have holes. A mouse can enter the nose into the hole to get a reward. The scientists tried to assess the habit of taking good diet at the time of infancy.

All the adult mice were given same controlled diet. The researchers tried to measure the learning and motivation of the mice. They explored that the female offspring who consumed nutrient-enriched diet or good diet at an early life acquired the better ability of learning.

The scientists obtained the result after providing sugar reward to the mice. The surprising fact is nutrient supplementation also reversed some deficits in the offspring that were present in the mice who ate high-fat food during pregnancy. The final word is good diet has the healing power to cure the negative effects that will come from junk foods. Read Next: Must Read: Exoplanets Raise Possibility Of Aliens' Arrival On Earth: NASA Discovery Surprises All!
