The Apple iPhone 8 that is supposed to be released in September is not going to happen anymore. The latest report suggests that the new flagship smartphone will instead be called, iPhone Edition.

Apple is currently testing a type of various designs for its forthcoming flagship model, which is the iPhone Edition, 9to5 Mac reported. The company was claimed to offer prototype smartphones with and without the Home button. It's also going to feature a glass, aluminum, and ceramic made handsets with some displays using TFT, LCD, and OLED.

Other reports are claiming that Apple will feature definitely around 5.15 inches display size, wireless charging and dual camera set-up of its iPhone Edition. The touchscreen will be extended to the very edges of the phone giving a space for virtual on-screen buttons. This is also to put the device’s physical size down while expanding the display. It was as well reported that Apple employed a group of more than 1,000 engineers working on Augmented Reality (AR) technology set for the iPhone.

Some reports also suggest that Apple is undergoing a prototype testing to provide an excellent iPhone Edition. The company needs enough time to purchase the materials to make final decisions. As a result, the next-generation iPhone is likely to arrive later than expected.

According to Fortune, Apple recently secured a patent for an improved face detection utilizing profound details. It was also previously reported that the tech giant company planned a new means of using biometric technology. This is likely to be experienced in the iPhone Edition that a person's face might be digitally scanned.

Though many reports are circulating about the new iPhone, Apple is most believe in presenting three different version of its 2017 model. The two of them will feature minor updates for the 2016's iPhone 7. But all of them are probably to be with the iPhone Edition.
