The long-awaited forerunner OnePlus 5 and Apple's iPhone 8 have unveiled their newest upgrades, awesome features and cutting-edge specs. It seems that OnePlus 5 is the upcoming rival of Apple and Samsung in the massive smartphone industry.

Rumors have already arisen about its release date including the speculation that it will be in May or June 2017. It is believed that OnePlus 5 is applying metal and glass design to institute wireless charging -- sounds cool, right?

Meanwhile, Apple is going to captivate the public's attention once again, especially that it's iPhone's 10th anniversary this year. There are hearsays that the next handset will go through several modifications involving specs, design, features, etc. Assuming that the OnePlus 5 rumors are true and it can outdo iPhone 8, which smartphone would you prefer purchasing?

Let's start the face off wth the contender, OnePlus 5. In a report by PC Advisor, it is alleged that instead of OnePlus 4, it would be called OnePlus 5 since number "4" is believed to be bad luck in Chinese culture.

Talking about the smartphone itself, it will come with a 5.5-inch dual-curved edge AMOLED display which will definitely provide a very clear video quality. It will also allow users to watch 3D videos by utilizing 4K display resolution screen.

The device will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 6GB of RAM and it will come with a 21 to 23MP rear and 12MP front camera, plus a 3500 to 4000 mAh battery with Dash Charge. The storage will probably begin at 64GB up to 128GB. It is also allegedly set to operate the latest Android Nougat.

Next is the well known iPhone 8, which is very much awaited by its fans. According to Forbes, the handset is reportedly going to use OLED screen, though Samsung has been using this already to its products like Samsung Galaxy Edge.

From here, enthusiasts, though excited about the rumor, are already expecting a very costly handset. It is believed that iPhone 8 will probably be sold more than $1000, considering the tax and other possible fees, which might be concealed by either Apple iPhone Upgrade Program or network subsidies.

Anyway, except the screen upgrade, other rumored features include replacement of USB-C for the lighting port (for faster charging), function area for virtual buttons, enhanced storage capacity which will start from 64GB, removal of physical buttons, etc., Macworld said.

As we know, people have always been anticipating for the next iPhone unit despite its price. Though the price is one of the main aspects in choosing a handset, Apple smartphones are still marketable and trendy.

We cannot deny the fact that iPhones are loaded with stunning innovational features and top of the line components. Nevertheless, OnePlus 5 is indeed a heavy-duty smartphone which might run to the same extent with iPhone 8, yet with an affordable cost.
