Whenever we store the leftover food in the refrigerator, we reheat it and consume it. We are simply unaware of the fact that some of these re-heated foods are quite dangerous for our health. The doctors have mentioned the harmful effects of some of the most dangerous leftover foods. The foods are as indicated below.

Rice: According to Lifehacker, consumption of leftover rice can result in food poisoning if it is not stored in a proper way. The main reason behind this is that cooking of rice does not kill all the bacteria that live on it. Thus, when the leftover rice is brought back to room temperature, it increases the chances of multiplication of bacteria to a great extent.

Celery, Spinach, and Beets: The reheating of these vegetables might turn the nitrate present in them to turn toxic in nature that is carcinogenic.

Mushrooms: According to  Mail Online, mushrooms have proteins present in them which break down immediately after it is cut. Now when these cooked mushrooms are stored in the refrigerator for more than 24 hours, it becomes unsafe to consume.

Chicken: The protein present inside the chicken changes when the cold chicken is reheated which might lead to some digestive problems unless it is warmed to extremely high temperatures.

Potatoes: They are the host to a bacterium named Clostridium botulinum which can cause Botulism which is a rare illness that can result in paralysis.

Boiled Eggs: Food poisoning can be caused if the eggs are not heated for a long duration of time. Cooked eggs should never be kept out of the fridge for over two hours because disease-causing bacteria can grow on them at a very fast pace.

So, donate the excess food or throw them away if you want to avoid overeating but do not store or warm it up before consuming
