After releasing the company's internet radio service "Milk Music," Samsung introduced a new mobile application that allows users to discover new videos. The application was developed to help users be updated with the popular videos online, and to make sharing easier.

Called "Milk Video', Samsung launched this service for owners of Galaxy devices, Mashable reported.

Samsung dubbed their new free service as "the next big thing in video," promising users that the most discussed online videos of the day are delivered right to them. The application's entire purpose is to solve what the company sees as disjointed online video viewing experience on phones.

"Discovery happens in a very haphazard and random way," Samsung Vice President of Content and Services Kevin Swint said. "You tend to come across viral videos either by someone sending you an email, or text, or something like that. But this experience being kind of random leaves a lot of people feeling like they're always the last to see the video that everyone is talking about."

"Milk Video" gets its content from about 46 channels, according to Techno Buffalo. These channels include Funny or Dare, VEVO, Vice, GQ and Glamour. The application alerts users when a video has become viral, leaving the users up-to-date with the latest video discussions.

"We're partnering with some of the best brands in new media to deliver great content across our consumers' passion points," John Pleasants, EVP of Samsung Media Solutions Center America, said during the launch of the service. Pleasants, former co-president of Disney Interactive, joined Samsung this summer, according to Variety.

Samsung has also integrated social networking sites on the application. Users can login through their Facebook and create their own personalized profile. They can manage their subscriptions, share their own videos, follow other users, give stars to videos they like and more. The application also allows users to repost the videos on their Facebook TImeline, Twitter account and e-mail although commenting is not part of the service yet.

"Milk Video" is currently only available in the United States, and works exclusively on Samsung Galaxy smartphones released since 2012, including the year's Galaxy S3 and Note 2, all the way to 2014's Galaxy S5 and Note 4, according to Cnet.

The "Milk Video" app can be downloaded through Google Play for the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4, Galaxy S 4 mini, Galaxy S III mini and Galaxy S 5.
