As his dad recovers from a tragic skiing accident, Mick Schumacher begins his journey in the Formula racing series. According to Christian Times, the son of the seven-time Formula One champion was seen completing a test run in Germany's Formula Four just last Wednesday.

It seems that the 16-year-old is determined to follow his dad's footsteps. The Christian Times adds that the young Schumacher joined the KF Junior Karting World and European Championship in 2014 and won the runner-up spot.

According to Breathe Cast, Mick had been karting for seven years before reaching this new racing category. Apparently, karting "is seen as a stepping stone for junior drivers hoping to reach the top."

The report adds, "The young protégé was racing through Lausitzring speedway in Brandenburg, eastern Germany in March when he skidded out of control and onto the gravel." Fortunately, the young Schumacher was not injured during the accident, states Breathe Cast.

Mick Schumacher joined the Dutch Van Amersfoort Racing team for the German Formula Four Series, reports the Christian Times. He will be teamed up with 16-year-old Harrison Newey, who happens to be the son of Adrian Newey, the designer of Formula One cars.

Sabine Kehm, the manager to both Schumacher racers, advised people not to set high expectations on the young Schumacher as of yet.

Speaking to Reuters in Germany, Kehm states, "My message is to be realistic with expectations." She also says, "Give him time, don't over-react in terms of expectations and just have him go step by step."

She tells people to be patient and give the new Formula series racer time to learn and get better. She states, "This is Mick's very first year in a formula series. He has to learn a lot of new things and make a lot of new experiences because the difference between karting and formula cars is quite big."

"Of course he will try and do his very best but he also has to learn a lot. This is really just the start of it," Khem adds.

As his son takes on Formula Four, Michael Schumacher is recovering slowly. The 46-year-old Formula One racer is being cared for by a "15-strong medical team," reports Express UK. He is being observed twenty-four seven.

The good news is that Michael has woken up from the coma. However, an insider states that the "progress is painfully slow." The racer remains mute with "limited awareness" of his surroundings. He is also unable to walk, states Express.
