Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is set to continue his adventures with his dragon Toothless in the third installment of the cartoon movie franchise, "How To Train Your Dragon."

It was known that the franchise would be a trilogy since it was announced after the first movie's release, according to Collider. According to director and writer, Dean DeBlois, "How to Train Your Dragon 3" will focus more on Hiccup's dragon, Toothless, as the movie will narrate "Hiccup's coming of age."

The third movie is scheduled to be released on June 29, 2018 in the United States, according to Coming Soon.

Here are some rumors that have been revealed about the third movie so far:

1. Hiccup and Toothless will be tribe chiefs.

According to Adam Chitwood of Collider, the third installment will end where the book series began.

"We're gonna take the story to where the books begin, which is Hiccup as an adult reflecting back on a time where there were dragons, suggesting that the dragons will in some way go away. Why and could they come back and the mystery of what all that is will be saved for the actual story," Director DeBlois was quoted as saying in an interview with the outlet last year.

2. There is more than meets the eye with "How to Train Your Dragon 2" main antagonist Drago Bludvist.

In a report by Inquisitr, DeBlois said that in the third movie, a glimpse of a never-been-seen side of Drago will be shown.

3. The third movie could have a tearjerking "Toy Story 3" plotline.

DeBlois reveals in a report by Screen Rant that "How to Train Your Dragon 3" could tear a page off the "Toy Story 3" plotline, where the primary theme was about growing up and moving on to their own separate ways. In parallel, the third movie could possibly involve Toothless and the dragons departing.

4. There might be a casting change in the new movie.

According to a report by Latinos Post, the upcoming movie might require an "older" voice for an elderly Hiccup and if actor Jay Baruchel can't step up to the challenge, he might be replaced.

5. There might be a "How to Train Your Dragon 4" movie.

Composer John Powell revealed that the third movie might be split into two, as Hiccup has "a lot of story left to tell" and that maybe splitting the third movie into two parts might address it, according to a report by Slash Film.
