We're not about to let it go just yet, as Frozen 2 is already in the works and is rumored to be released before 2018. In March, Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter officially announced Frozen 2, saying, "We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

Josh Gad, the voice behind the lovable and adorable snowman Olaf, is currently promoting the "Pixels The Movie," and told MTV: "It’s all very exciting and I think they have a great story to tell."

Eva Bella, who lends her voice to the young Elsa, shared that she had been going to the studio to record for the past month. She told fans: "Always a good place to start my day! Nice to be back...busy day ahead! Let's do this! #actorslife #FROZEN."

While the plot has not yet been revealed, fans have been quick to create theories on what the sequel will be all about, Movie Pilot reports. Frozen surprised most audiences with its sisterly true love themes despite Elsa and Anna being estranged at a young age, and some are banking on this storyline to be explored in the sequel. Here are some fan theories we would love to see on the big screen in Frozen 2.

  1. How did Elsa get her powers? It was revealed in the first film that she was born with it, but the more important question left unresolved by the film is how she got her powers. Were Elsa's parents cursed by an evil witch of some sort? What did Elsa and Anna's parents do to deserve the said curse?
  2. How did Elsa and Anna work through their relationship? Where does Hans fit in the new royal family? We can observe the similarities of Rapunzel and Eugene and Anna and Kristoff, but we don't know yet how this dynamic of this will work. Will Anna and Kristoff get married, or will they take their time, after Anna's unfortunate relationship with Hans?
  3. How are Rapunzel and Elsa and Anna related? We already rejoiced in that little tidbit in which Rapunzel and Eugene had a tiny cameo in Frozen, but will Disney explore this relationship? Will there be a crossover of some sort in the near future?

We're hoping that Disney won't keep us in the dark much longer, but rest assured that the production is coming up with great ideas to explore Elsa and Anna's world further. Josh Gad told Movie Pilot: "I think that the creative team is really taking their time to define how to top that story. The more I hear about it, the more excited I'm getting and I think it's going to be wonderful."
