With the PlayStation 4 doing so well in the market, gamers are now wondering when the fifth installment of Sony's gaming console will be released.

Several rumors have spread and speculations have been made concerning the possible release date, specs, and other features of the PlayStation 5.

According to Gaming Bolt, some game developers would like to create games that are not limited by any hardware, but are willing to wait until a new generation of consoles has been perfected.

Zoltan Pozonyi, from Neocore Games, states: "It'd be great to reach the point where games are limited by hardware and the periphery, but we won't think that it will happen very soon. It might be a safe bet to say that until console manufacturers have considerable success with their products, they won't abandon the idea of a next generation..."

A website dedicated to the PS5 further explains that new tech, such as Project Morpheus, is pushing current consoles to its limits. The PlayStation 4, in particular, needs to use a lot of power in order to activate Project Morpheus.

As a result, Cross Map believes that Sony has already started working on the Playstation 5, possibly due to the demand of game developers. In fact, Sony has posted a job position on its official website for a senior game programmer.

The post claims that the company is seeking a senior game programmer to work on the development of a game "used for R&D" purposes, which is associated with the company's next generation gaming system.

The mention of a next generation gaming system, clearly means that Sony is working on another console, although it may not be a PlayStation 5. A website dedicated to the PS5 predicts that it will come out around November 2020. The prediction is based off of past PlayStation console release dates.

There have been very little predictions about the possible specs and features on the PlayStation 5. However, talk of a cloud-based system has been the most persistent and prominent rumor.

Ben Wilson, the Editor of "PlayStation" magazine, mentions to Tech Radar that the PS5 will basically be a streaming service.

Adding to the fact that PlayStation Now is exceedingly successful among gamers, there is a high chance the streaming videos will be a prominent feature in the PS5.

Wilson states that "experts" have predicted the "imminent demise of the DC for about 20 years." Despite the popularity of downloadable games, however, Wilson believes that developers will still released games in CD format.

"There will always be those who prefer special editions and sexy packaging to invisible downloads, and it's those guys and girls who'll ensure disc drives live on within gamin in some form," explains Wilson.
