It's Halloween time at Hotel Cortez. The upcoming Halloween episode will be referencing several dark moments in modern history to tickle and delight fans worldwide.
According to Vanity Fair, the upcoming fourth episode in the popular television series will be drawing influences from famous serial killers such as John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Aileen Wuornos and 'The Night Stalker' Richard Ramirez. In just three released episodes, American Horror Story: Hotel has already made references to Bernie Madoff, Charlie Hebdo, the rap rivalry during the 90s and a modern plague.
E! Online has produced several reveals and controversial theories on how this season will turn out.
Although it has only been three episodes into the fifth season of the series, there are already speculations circulating about the next season. During Saturday's Entertainment Weekly Fan Fest, Ryan Murphy and celebrities from Scream Queens and American Horror Story have revealed little details.
EW's report states that Murphy "has been tossing around the idea of airing two seasons of AHS in 2016."
If Evan Peters has his way, the next season could be American Horror Story: Space. Unfortunately for the AHS star, Murphy will not allow it, stating the series is not called the "Intergalactic Horror Story."
Bustle has posted several guesses, based on popular subplots in the series.
1. American Horror Story: Serial Killer
Although there are at least two episodes in this season alone which delves into serial killers, they are mere subplots in the story. Focusing an entire season on this subject offers the writers and producers more leeway in creating shocking stories.
Bustle suggests using a "Silence of the Lambs" angle, where law enforcement uses a serial killer to solve murders and get a deeper understanding in the mind of a killer.
2. American Horror Story: Antichrist
Another popular concept involves the satanic child. This idea was already covered in American Horror Story: Murder House but revisiting this idea wouldn't hurt, says Bustle.
The report states that movies such as The Omen have helped establish how sinister it would be to encounter a demonic infant. Perhaps fans would like to see what new dreadful tricks baby Michael is coming up with.
3. American Horror Story: Nightmare
This concept was popularized by the Nightmare on Elm Street movies where people get stuck in their own dreams and die while being sound asleep. Although the last movie in the series was released in 2010, Murphy may give this novel horror idea a new spin in his television series.
