William Shatner may be 84 years old, but he still loves to troll Star Wars fans. For the last few days, he has made several posts and uploaded memes on his Twitter account, teasing fans about the similarities between the new Star Wars movie and science fiction flicks from the 1970s.

Shatner played Captain Kirk in the Star Trek series from 1966-1969 and has appeared in several Star Trek movies. He also did voiceovers for a number of video games, according to IMDB.

Huffington Post says the recent banter started when the first trailer for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" was released back in November 2014. Sharner uploaded a series of memes Twitter on "What Bill learned from the 'Star Wars' trailer."

In October, Shatner trolled Adam Horowitz, who seems to be a fan of Star Wars, says USA Today. Horowitz is an executive producer of the series Once Upon a Time.

It all went downhill when the new poster and trailer for Episode VII was released. Huffington post says Shatner uploaded several shots comparing elements from the poster to old movies.

Based on a report by The Guardian, Shatner says Captain Phasma's shiny helmet looks a lot like what the robot characters wore on Battlestar Galactica. By putting two images side by side, Shatner says that Poe Dameron's fighter uniform looks strikingly similar to the costumes worn on Space: 1999.

J.J. Abrams directed the most recent Star Wars movie as well as the last two Star Trek films. Even he was not spared from Captain Kirk's roasts.

In a report by the Huffington Post, Shatner earlier referred to Abrams as a "pig" for directing for both franchises. In an indirect way, Shatner did compliment Abrams later by saying, "he's probably the most talented director of that ilk we have."

Shatner may have to work harder if he wants to prevent people from watching the new Star Wars movie. According to The Guardian, in just the first 24 hours, The Force Awakens trailer garnered a total of 112 million views online.

The same report also states that advance orders for tickets have been bought at unprecedented rates.

Although Shatner loves to troll Star Wars fans, his followers love his Twitter account. He recently made a live tweet for The Flash, says USA Today.

Will Captain Kirk eventually tell Star Wars fans to "live long and prosper?" Judging from his recent antics online, perhaps not in a million years.
