Celebrity chef Bobby Flay, Stephanie March divorce: actress cracks joke; says 'it's really a good time in my life'

Back in July, celebrity chef Bobby Flay and his "Law & Order: SVU" actress wife Stephanie March released a joint statement announcing their divorce. The couple, who have been married for 10 years, officially separated in March, People reports.

"We have come to an amicable divorce settlement," the two said in a joint statement. "We look forward to putting this difficult time behind us, and we ask that you respect our privacy as we move forward."

Months later, March is cracking jokes about the divorce, telling Us Magazine that she initially thought she would have to learn how to whip up a meal following her divorce from the 50-year-old restaurateur and TV personality.

"I thought I would have to learn to cook because I’m not really a very good cook and I thought, 'I’m going to have to pick up a few tricks," March said during an interview with Extra. "But as it turns out, I go out a lot, so looks like I don’t have to."

The actress admitted, though, "My toast is amazing. My cereal is incredible."

March also credits her family and friends for helping her through the divorce by providing their moral support.

"I am by no means the only person to ever go through this and I’m very cognitive of that," the 41-year-old actress said. "I have a wonderful support network of really good friends and really good family so I don’t spend a lot of time feeling sorry for myself about it."

Celebrity tabloids reported that Flay cheated on March with his assistant, Elyse Tirrell, but the couple refused to comment on the issue.

"It’s not pleasant to see your private life out there, but, you know, I consider myself pretty lucky," March said. "Business is good, I have great friends, I love my new place, it’s really a good time in my life."

According to Extra, March is also involved in the makeup salon business, as she and one of her former makeup artists created Rouge New York. The actress built the idea around not needing a special occasion to have hair and makeup done, and so far the business has flourished.

Meanwhile, after rumors of Flay dating celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis was crushed when de Laurentiis was seen out with her new boyfriend, talks are circulating that he is dating "Mad Men" actress January Jones. Movie News Guide reports that Flay has been fancying another blonde in the form of Jones, with whom he is rumored to have a four-year-old son, Xander Dane. Jones has kept the identity of her son a secret.
