Marvel fans are abuzz with the first ever trailer for next year's highly anticipated "Captain America: Civil War," which pitches two Avengers against each other—Steve Rogers' Captain America and Tony Stark's Iron Man. Joining #TeamCaptainAmerica and #TeamIronMan are a few more familiar faces from "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and new ones, including Black Panther, who makes his debut in the trailer below.

The trailer features the return of Steven Rogers' best friend, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) who is also known as the Winter Soldier, with whom Captain America squared off with in "Captain America Winter Soldier" in 2014.

In "Civil War," Bucky, or the Winter Soldier, regains his memory but remains to be a wanted vigilante after the stunts he pulled in the 2014 film. That's where Captain America stands up for his best friend and goes against the government, which aims to enforce the Superhuman Registration Act, under which all superheroes must be enlisted.

"You're a wanted man," Steven Rogers tells Bucky in a dark, abandoned building. "They're not planning on taking you alive."

The action begins as the manhunt for Bucky ensues, forcing Captain America to pick a side.

"I know how much Bucky means to you. Stay out of this one. Please," Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) asks Captain America. "You'll only make this worse."

Iron Man then comes face to face with Captain, where he says, "If you can't accept limitations, we're no better than the bad guys."

"I'm sorry, Tony," Captain America says sullenly. "You know I wouldn't do this if I had any other choice. But he's my friend."

"So was I," Iron Man replies sadly, as the trailer cuts to a scene of him battling both Captain America and the Winter Soldier.

The two-minute trailer debuted in last night's Jimmy Kimmel, where actors Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans were also in the studio. Downey posted an Instagram photo of himself with Evans with the caption, "Look who I found... And yes, we are expecting... @jimmykimmellive."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer became the number one worldwide trend on Twitter within the first few hours of release. "Captain America: Civil War" is directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Also featured in the cast are Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson or the Falcon, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes or War Machine, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther, Paul Bettany as Vision, Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, among others.

"Civil War" ignites in theaters on May 6, 2015.
