"Final Fantasy 6" may be coming to PC soon, IGN reports, as a rating has been published in the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) page. According to the page, "The content of this game is suitable for persons aged 12 years and over only. It contains: Non realistic looking violence towards human characters." The listing also indicates November 26, 2015 as the release date, but it may mean the date that the PC game was rated.

For those who are unfamiliar with PEGI, the rating system was launched in 2003 by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) to assist European parents in making informed decisions on purchasing computer games. It replaced several national age rating systems and is now used in over 30 countries, including Austria Denmark, Hungary, Latvia, Norway, Slovenia, Belgium, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Bulgaria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Sweden, Cyprus, France, Israel, Malta, Romania, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovak Republic and the United Kingdom. The rating system is supported by several major console manufacturers, including Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, and more.

"Final Fantasy" creators at Square Enix had already expressed interest in remaking their IPs, and even announced that they plan to remake "Final Fantasy VII" for PlayStation 4. In October, Venture Beat reported that Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura, who is directing the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, seems to want to remake the fifth and sixth installments of "Final Fantasy" as well.

"Considering that we have remakes of Final Fantasy up to IV and then we have VII — I’ve been working with Mr. [Yoshinori] Kitase since Final Fantasy V, and we’ve noticed that V and VI are missing. That bothers me," Nomura commented. "How come we skipped over those two?"

Venture Beat also reports that the first and second installments of "Final Fantasy" were remade for Game Boy Advance and PSP, while the third and fourth installments were remade for Nintendo DS.

Gamespot reported in October that Square Enix is banking on remakes and smartphone versions of their games in the coming years. According to company's annual report, "We will revitalise some of our strong IPs in ways that meet the needs of the modern gaming market. For example, we will take an IP developed for earlier generations of game consoles and recreate it for the latest consoles, while also proactively developing versions for play on smart devices."

Sony's Vice President for Developer Relations, Adam Boyes also announced during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference that the company is already remaking "Final Fantasy 7". As for the sixth installment, fans will have to wait for further announcements as soon as it becomes available.
