Mobile gamers would be glad to know that Niantic has released new details on the augmented reality game, "Pokemon GO," which is scheduled for release this 2016. Developed by Niantic and distributed by Nintendo, "Pokeman GO" is a game for Android and iPhone users that enables gamers to collect, train, battle, and trade virtual Pokemon in the real world by simply using their mobile phones. The Verge reported that Nintendo is also releasing a small wearable device that utilizes a Bluetooth connection to alert the gamer when a Pokemon is nearby.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Niantic's CEO John Hanke spoke to Venture Beat to talk more about what's in store for gamers in the upcoming "Pokemon GO." First of all, Hanke says that gamers won't have a difficult time finding their Pokemons.

"Our goal is to make it so you can walk out of the house and within five minutes, you can find Pokémon," Hanke explained. "It may not be the most rare Pokémon in the world, but there’ll be a population of Pokémon living near all our players."

Hanke further explained that because Pokemons come in different types and sizes, the Pokemon a player will find in a particular location will be dependent on what type it is. He said that some Pokemon can be linked to different parts of the world, making the discovery game even more exciting.

"Pokémon will live in different parts of the world depending on what type of Pokémon they are," Hanke explained. "Water Pokémon will live near the water. It may be that certain Pokémon will only exist in certain parts of the world. Very rare Pokémon may exist in very few places."

Gamerant reports that "Pokemon GO" will also feature gyms, where battles are conducted in almost every Pokemon game. Hanke commented, "Gyms will be a bit more rare. You want to find gyms so you can level up your Pokémon and battle there, so it will take a little more effort to get there."

Hanke added that Niantic will be holding events wherein players can trade Pokemon with other gamers. He explained, "Pokémon trading is going to be huge. You can’t get all of them by yourself. If you want all of them you’ll have to trade with other players. Or you have to be someone who takes time off work and travels the world for a year. There may be people who do that."

Hanke also opened up about the "Pokemon GO Plus" device that Nintendo is releasing, saying that it is a way for gamers to continue playing without having to constantly stare at their phone. He said, "Part of the idea of the game is, you’re outside and you can see beautiful things. If you’re always staring at your phone, you’re not seeing the world around you."

"Pokemon GO" is set to be released this 2016.
